Melanie Shilpa Rao is a Technical Lead at IBM with almost a decade of experience in the field. She is currently leading the ODM Cloud Services team, responsible for delivering and maintaining the ODM on Cloud offering. Her expertise lies in Agile team management, development and integration, and testing. As a software engineer, Melanie has implemented several aspects of the product using Docker/Kubernetes/Helm for deployment and Ansible for automation. She has also designed, implemented, maintained, and monitored end-to-end Java tests, including UI testing using Selenium. Melanie's previous role was as a Graduate Software Engineer in the WebSphere MQ Cloud team, where she played an active role in developing IBM's new hosted cloud messaging service. She was responsible for the implementation of various components of the service using Java, enhancement of the integration test framework, and automation of the installation and updating of various components, including monitoring and logging. Melanie holds a Master of Science in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering from The University of Edinburgh. She also has a Scientific Baccalaureate with Option Internationale from Lycée International de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Melanie's technical expertise includes Senior Software Engineering, test, Ansible, Integration, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, Java, Selenium, UI, and infra.
